With 23 years economics teaching experience and 16 years as Head of Department, currently in one the leading independent schools in the north of England, I remain absolutely passionate about my subject and improving the knowledge and skills of my students at GCSE & A Level so that they achieve their full potential.
In addition, I am also experienced senior examiner for AQA across both microeconomic and macroeconomic papers and published author of teacher and student resources, I have gained significant vital experience to assist students in preparing for examinations to ensure they get to the day of examinations in a place where they can give themselves the best opportunity to succeed.
For every student, the approach is personalised as much as possible. I aim to establish exactly what the students objectives are, and then seek to identify the areas of the course wherever they feel they need the most support. Fundamentally, I try to explain concepts in a variety of ways as no two students are the same, and give as many real world examples as possible so that they can place their theoretical knowledge into context. Above all however, enjoyment of the subject underpins everything I do.
Sessions can be tailored to your needs depending upon the skills and knowledge you would like to develop. Crucially, the ability to analyse and evaluate arguments at a higher level can only come from building strong foundations of knowledge and building confidence in those over time, and this is something I take pride in ensuring students are able to do.
