I have completed a 5 year higher educational course of study in compliance with the educational and qualification degree “Masters of Geography – regional development and tourism”, with a Major in Tourism and by resolution of the State Examination Board, dated November 1997 was awarded the professional qualification “Geographer. Geography Teacher”. The length of my course of study is in accordance with Directive 2005/36/EU.
In 16 October 2008 I have attained qualified teacher status (QTS), and met the requirements for employment in maintained school and non-maintained special schools in England and was exempt from requirements to serve a statutory induction period.
I am a positive person and I always aim to use a positive management of behaviour in an environment of mutual respect.
I promote the worth of every student I teach. Every student is very special and unique. Even though I honour students’ differences (and encourage others to do so), I also inform them to treat others with the same respect that they would like to receive. Every individual deserves to be valued and recognized for “who they are”.
I believe that students learn best when they can feel a sense of “personal accomplishment” in their own learning. I give my students many opportunities to share answers and ideas, participate in learner-centred activities and inquiry-based learning, and celebrate their accomplishments with the rest of the class and their families. I believe that students’ sense of pride will motivate them to learn even more in future lessons and classes.
I value parents’ support and will do all that I can to develop the best connections and relationships with students’ parents. My friendliness, honesty, trust, and faithful commitment will help me build a positive rapport with all parents and guardians. I will also ask parents to contact me if they would like to share positive comments on their child’s progress, inform me about any problems their child might have, or ask for extra practice or assistance that I can provide them. I am willing to listen and help in any way that I can.
I have experience of teaching Human, Physical and Environmental Geography. Modules have included:
1. Physical Geography
a) Coastal systems and landscapes;
b) Water and carbon cycles
2. Human Geography
a) Changing places
b) Global systems and global governance
3. People and the environment
a) Hazards
b) Contemporary urban environments
Currently, I am teaching college students on the Central Sixth, Sandwell College, having been an academic tutor and lecturer. The scheme is part of the AQA examination board, and has allowed me to successfully prepare students for university.
I would like to do 2 hour sessions at A-level for a discounted price of £50 and similar discounts for GCSE for one and a half or 2 hour sessions.
When studying with me, I will help you not just get you through the exam, but with the best grade possible.
Finally, it’s about meeting your individual needs. Therefore, my approach will be very flexible to your needs. This may include revision techniques, understanding key words, knowledge on specific topics that you struggle with, or geographical skills. My teaching style will be adapted to suit your learning style and needs. Remember my goal is to get you the best grade possible, not just pass the exam.
To conclude, it is all about Geography. That means, it is all about our world where we leave. Better knowledge and understanding of the subject itself definitely will help to increase your chance for further personal and professional development.
