I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist at the University of Oxford - I have extensive experience of working with young people and adults and I am passionate about helping people reach their potential. As a career-changer I completed a non-psychology degree, and I then worked in the third and public sectors with vulnerable people as a Service Manager, Project Manager and a Specialist Support Worker for several years. I completed a conversion Master's in Psychology and I am now studying the Clinical Psychology Doctorate - my academic skills have focused on research, critical analysis and essay writing. I bring a wealth of experience and perspectives from different disciplines to my teaching, which ties real-world practice with academic literature as a scientist practitioner.
I will be able to support students from a wide range of abilities to critically analyse literature, plan essays, understand research methods, support in exploring lecture content, and improve writing style. As someone who completed Psychology as a postgraduate conversion (achieving a Distinction in my master's), I have the skills to understand how to learn psychology anew.
I achieved A*A*A at A-Level, AAAA at AS and 8A*'s and 3A's at GCSE (which includes English Language at A-Level, and both English Literature and Language at GCSE). I feel confident about supporting people to learn how to revise and study for exams in a way that suits their unique learning style. I can also give feedback on essays, coursework and provide assistance with other Psychology-related skills. I have been working with young people and adults in pastoral and support settings for over a decade, including in experience in a one-to-one teaching role with young people and children. My style is adaptable and accessible for all learners.
Tutoring is personal and it's important that we work together to understand how you learn best. I want our sessions to be an open, flexible and honest space, where no question is silly. My aim is for tutees to feel confident in the material covered in our sessions so that they can take this forward independently.
I offer online sessions or in person sessions in Aylesbury. I have extensive experience of delivering training and sessions in both online and face-to-face settings.
Please feel free to message me if you have any questions.
