QUALIFIED AND HIGHLY EXPERIENCED TEACHER OF 13 YEARS WORKING IN A SECONDARY SCHOOL / SIXTH FORM

I am a qualified teacher of Economics and Business Studies and teach at an outstanding secondary school/sixth form in Nottingham. I have a first class honours degree in Economics and Business Management from the University of Nottingham. I am able to support students studying for both GCSE and A-level examinations and have a great deal of experience of teaching to a variety of exam boards.

As well as teaching in the classroom since 2011, I have run a successful tuition business alongside this. To date, I have taught over 90 students on a one-to-one basis and continue my work for the AQA examination board as an examiner for A-level Economics.

Tutoring Experience

Head of Economics at an outstanding secondary school and sixth form college.

Thirteen years experience as a qualified teacher, in which time I have tutored over 90 GCSE and A-level students. In August 2023 and 2024, the majority of the A-level students I privately tutored achieved A/A* grades.

Successful completion of the Outstanding Teacher Programme and trained AQA A-level examiner.

I am currently teaching to the following exam specifications:

• AQA Economics (GCE)
• AQA Business Studies (GCE)
• AQA Business Studies (GCSE, Grades 1-9)
• OCR Economics (GCSE, Grades 1-9)

I also have experience of teaching OCR Economics (GCE), Edexcel Business (GCE), Edexcel Economics qualifications A and B (GCE), Edexcel Business Studies (GCSE, Grades 1-9).

I have supported undergraduate university students who are studying Business Studies / Business Management with various projects, including dissertations.

I examine for AQA and mark the Economics Paper 3.

I have supported students of all academic abilities and am able to encourage good progress from my tutees through the well-structured lessons I deliver and high quality assessment.

In each of my lessons, students are assessed using example exam questions. I will always provide feedback and a model exam answer during the lesson.
