I’m a passionate Maths teacher and a former engineer. I have a husband, daughter and two dogs. I love to hike and cook.

Tutoring Experience

I’ve worked as a Maths teacher almost ten years and was an engineer for nearly ten years before that. I’ve worked in both comprehensive and grammar schools and have taught all ages 7 to 18 across all sets.

In terms of my experience tutoring, I’ve tutored ten students in total over a 5 year period. Students have come to me in a variety of positions - a KS3 student looking to simply increase his confidence in Maths and move from bottom set, students entering Year 11 on a Grade 3 and looking to push it to a secure pass and theses on Grades 6/7 looking to push for Grades 8 and 9.

Tutoring Approach

I tutor online and tailor all lessons to suit the tutee’s needs. I’ll put together lessons on specific topics, work through exam papers/exam style questions. I am very thorough. Generally I work to one lesson a week then increase the frequency during mock and exam periods but I’m happy to have as many sessions as you’d like.
I am also happy to send exam packs via email for which the student can work through under exam conditions and send back to me in order to obtain an accurate current grade.

I have a calm and friendly approach to my tutoring in order to help my tutees feel relaxed and comfortable with me, enough to ask any questions.
