I am an knowledgeable and experienced teacher of Economics, with 19 years of teaching experience.
I am a fully qualified teacher and Head of Economics at Barton Peveril College - an Outstanding Sixth Form College in Hampshire.
As a teacher, I try to instill a passion for understanding Economics in my students. By engaging students through reinforcement of core principles and theory and regular application to real world examples, I hope to help all students make excellent progress.
As Head of Economics I have designed effective schemes of learning and understand the required exam techniques to help students maximise their potential in an exam situation.
I have taught for 19 years and tutored extensively in that time.
I have experience with both in person and online tutoring and have tutored students from a wide range of educational backgrounds.
As a tutor, I seek to engage students and make their learning as dynamic as possible. For example, the use of mini whiteboards and other engaging tasks allows students to engage more actively with their learning. I want sudents to enjoy the study of Economics and discover how fascinating the subject can be!
Regular reinforcement of difficult concepts and then application to exam practice is used to help students understand how to tackle difficult topics in an exam context.
I am happy to adapt my approach to the needs of each student and can help students to plan and structure their revision around short term goals such as mock exams, as well as the longer term goal of succeeding in the final exams.
