From grade C to predicted grade A.
Gill is the best tutor I’ve ever had, a truly exceptional teacher and a rare find.
I was apprehensive at first to contact Gill as her prices were low (compared with other tutors on this site) so Incorrectly assumed that she may not be the best in ‘tutor’ quality.
Gill constantly works behind the scenes for her pupils. For instance, she sends me important materials that my school didn’t know about (or didn’t attempt to send), grades my papers, looks at what is likely to come up in exams and sends me questions on it, and organises group sessions.
None of my other tutors do any of this and they charge ridiculously.
Her terms of conditions reflect her services and they are extremely fair considering what she offers.
I have told Gill that she should raise her prices to reflect her service and to attract dedicated students.

Thank you for your glowing reference. It's a lot to live up to! I am glad you are finding the tuition helpful. I do what I can for my students as I believe in them, and want them to achieve whatever they can. We build up a good relationship so the student's confidence can grow and they can develop their skills. Of course, it is up to the student to make it happen; I can only guide and advise. I do find that when the student listens and works hard, they achieve their goals. So keep going, Sonia, you are on the right path :-)

I recently accepted to exchange details. However, teacher Gill sent me further terms and conditions to sign upon exchanging details. My mum and I were unaware that there would be further terms to agree to after the finders fee payment.

I am sorry this has caused you difficulties. The T& C's are simply about advance payments and cancellation fees, which cannot be put on the First Tutors website. However, I have been advised by FT that I can advise potential students via the FT email portal as long as no personal information is provided during the initial contacts, so this problem will not arise again. I should add it has never caused any problems beforehand as they are standard T's & C's. It is the quality of the tuition that is paramount, and I am sure you can see from my other feedback that I do my best to provide an excellent service and care very much for my students.

Many thanks Gill for being a great support for my daughter and giving her confidence. Her understanding of Psychology and Sociology has increased hugely over the past few months. Lessons are geared to her needs and subject matter thoroughly covered, with constructive feedback given on homework.

Thank you, Sally. E is an exemplary student, always giving of her best. I have seen big improvements in the short time in both subjects. We have a very nice relationship and she is a delight to work with.

Gill has been a fantastic tutor to our daughter. Iris is delighted with her A grade, and extremely grateful for the help and support Gill gave her in obtaining it. Gill really cares about her students and is a truly wonderful teacher. As Iris says: "She gave me such an in-depth knowledge of Psychology. We had incredible discussions, bring ideas together, giving me loads of exam-taking skills." Gill gave Iris confidence and really pushed her to the maximum. She was very encouraging and supportive.

Gill tutpred my son for A-level psychology and for a short tperiod of time, also for sociology. I found her very professinal and easy to work wiht, and she helped to keep him motivated and interested. His grades improved from a C to an A in Psychology and he achived a B in Sociology. Feedback from my son "Gill was a very helpful resource for me during exam season, in our sessions she was very helpful with correcting the mistakes i made, and ensuring I revised the full syllabis. However the main area I needed support was with improving my writing style. Before our sessions my writing was not to the style AQA examiners wanted, but by writing essays and doing previous exam questions and listening to her feedback, my writing style changed drastically and quickly. I achieved an A in psychology which i think was largely due to her help. Gill also helped me learn theorists for Sociology, in which i acheived a B. Aside from helping me to learn she was fun to talk to, and had many personal **Web Address Removed** and stories which helped me engage with the topics, and remember concepts for both subjects." Thank you so much Kerry and Tristan. Tristan has been an excellent student and keen to improve even though he had an unconditional offer for university. I have been impressed with his attitude and commitment and his response to friendly and constructive criticism. It shows that the tutor/ relationship really matters and that it is a two-way process.
