I am a Primary School teacher, with over 30 years of experience. I currently work in schools so have up to date knowledge of the curriculum and current methods. I have lots of experience working with children in the Early Years as well as older children too. I have a current enhanced DBS and belong to the DBS update service. I am willing to travel to deliver face-to-face tutoring sessions at home and am able to travel up to 5 miles within the fee, an additional cost may be charged beyond that.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching in Primary Schools in both the state and private sectors for many years. I have a lot of experience teaching phonics, early reading and writing as well as teaching KS1 and KS2 English and Maths. I have current experience with phonics schemes being used in schools as well as Maths schemes. I am able to offer support and develop the confidence of children facing key assessments (Phonics Screening, SATs, Times tables test).

Tutoring Approach

For children to develop their confidence and love of learning the activities I provide are tailored for the individual needs, including practical activities where appropriate. I use a kind, patient and structured approach to meet each child’s needs. I can provide homework, on request.
