I have a B.A. Hons degree in French and German from the University of Exeter and taught English in a Lubeck Gymnasium from 1985-6. I teach English, Maths, 11 Plus, French and German and consider myself a patient, enthusiastic tutor who takes pride in getting the best from pupils, making lessons interesting and relevant and providing coaching in examination/learning techniques. I coach for success, provided that the pupil is prepared to dedicate the time and effort.
Having worked in industry for 10 years I can also offer bespoke coaching for numerical and reasoning tests required for job applications and assessments.
I've been supporting GCSE and 7-16 year pupils using KS3, AQA and Edexel for 4 years, in English, Maths, German and French for several years.
I also teach modern languages (French and German) to adults and can help with English as a Foreign Language.
My approach is patient and collaborative, guided by the specific needs of the pupil.
For both adults and pupils at school I work to make the lessons appeal to their personal interests/hobbies as well as keeping to the school curriculum.
