Gowsa

My name is Gowsa and I am a Biomedical Science, BSc, graduate from Queen Mary University of London. I am also a qualified Biology and Chemistry teacher at A-level. I am an extremely patient and friendly individual who understands the difficulties a student faces from the beginning of education. I am dedicated and committed to the job I do and will make sure to provide the best experience. I attended a comprehensive school and so understand that the students will need support. I tutor from home and cannot travel.

I am currently providing online tutoring as well.

Tutoring Experience

With over 5 years of experience in tutoring, I have been helped to successfully guide students towards their target grades and even higher. I have been tutored from a young age and therefore understand what a bad tutor could be like as well as what a good tutor should be like. I also understand what a tutor must do in order to help the students to not only understand the theory but be able to apply it in exams.

Tutoring Approach

Examinations usually involve two aspects; firstly understanding the theory and secondly being able to apply what you have learnt in different scenarios. To be able to teach the theory, I will go through the relevant topics in the textbooks and test the students after every chapter to ensure they have understood what I have taught them. I will also set tests which will be a good indication of how the students are doing. To be able to help them apply their knowledge I will set tasks which are unfamiliar but will urge the students to use the knowledge to help them. Nearer to exams there will more and more exam papers from different exam boards as well to really prepare them.
