I'm an inspiring, enthusiastic teacher with a track record of outstanding results for students, especially in achieving A* at A level. I can also teach Further Maths A level, and help students to prepare for MAT, STEP, or similar.

Tutoring Experience

11+ years experience teaching in some of the best schools and sixth forms in the country. Deputy Head of Maths, in charge of KS5 provision where I have increased the A-A* rate by over 20%. Consistently outstanding results for students. 9+ years as an examiner for edexcel, which means I can tell students exactly how to ensure they get all the marks in any given question.

Tutoring Approach

I like to bring out what the student already knows, encouraging them to form a deeper understanding of what they're studying, and make connections between different areas of the course. In my 11+ years experience, and also through being an examiner, I have come to understand which methods make most sense to students, are reliable, and efficient, and I share these with students. I have many helpful ways for them to remember the methods, and to identify what the question is asking them to do. We will also focus on developing the problem solving skills needed to tackle A* questions.

I am also open to running tutoring sessions with a small group of 2-5 students, with a reduced cost per student. Please ask if you are interested in this option.
