Experienced and qualified teacher of Economics and Business. Currently, a successful Head of Department in an inner London school and have the ability to teach a range of courses which include GCSE and A Level Economics, GCSE Business, as well as vocational courses such as OCR Cambridge Nationals in Enterprise and Marketing, and AQA Applied Business.
I am approachable and make students feel at ease when working with me so that they are comfortable in asking for support when needed and are not afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. I enjoy stretching and challenging students and also scaffolding tasks to ensure they reach their full potential.

Tutoring Experience

I hold over 7 years of experience of working in an academic setting as an effective classroom practitioner and a personal tutor with the commitment to ensure that all students succeed and fulfil their academic goals. I am very passionate about making a difference to young people's lives through teaching and am keen to contribute to other aspects of school life. I have worked in a range of schools which include mainstream inner and outer London schools as well as an independent school in Berkshire and therefore have the skill to work with a diverse range of students and abilities. This is evident in the recent set of excellent results achieved both in school as well as a track record of vast majority of students achieving A grades through private tuition.

Tutoring Approach

Within my roles, I have had the opportunity to run large and small group sessions as we well as one-to-one intervention sessions, and therefore have the ability to tailor my lessons according to individual needs. My approach will include identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses within the course as well as the learning style of the individual. With this in mind, my sessions will be personalised to ensure that every minute is productive and best outcomes are achieved. Sessions will include consolidating understanding, clearing any misconceptions, and a large amount of exam practise. I will ensure that the student is fully prepared for their examination and ensure that the correct exam techniques to meet specific assessment objectives are in place. Exam techniques will focus on analytical and evaluation skills which is the key to success on these courses.
