Positive praise has always been a forte of mine. Motivating pupils to be the best that they can be is of utmost importance. Pupils that are actively engaged and focused is a key factor to improving standards.
I have always been an empathetic person who is a good listener to the needs of the pupils. Having had two children myself I understand how important it is to be a kind and caring person so that the pupils gain their trust in me. I have also found that strong relationships with parents, working together to assist their child is conducive to a positive influence on their all-round learning. Planning and preparation are key factors in my teaching. It is essential that I arrive early in the mornings to ensure computer programs, worksheets and resources are ready for the day’s lessons. However, lessons don’t always go according to plan and I have the ability to ‘think on my feet,’ and change the structure of the lesson to assist the pupils. I enjoy making learning fun when possible and attempt to adapt my planning with kinaesthetic resources and include some sort of game. Pupils have always enjoyed table tennis multiplication game.
In addition to my teaching experience, I am also a qualified ECB Cricket Coach and have been coaching Cricket to juniors for 21 years. This includes coaching Coventry District teams from Under 11's to Under 19's. Coaching at this level requires me to instil values of healthy competition, fair play, and ambition to succeed.
I have been teaching at Wyken Croft Primary School since the Summer Term in 2024. The experience gained during my time there has been an improvement in my ability to manage behaviour of neuro-diverse pupils.
In conclusion, I have a lot of experience and passion to bring to the table. I go the extra mile to do anything I can for the pupils. Ultimately, the pupil’s happiness and confidence is my priority. Teaching is what I was born to do, and I am incredibly grateful to carry out a job that I love so much.
I have 21 years’ experience within state and independent schools. This has provided me with an in-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum. I have used a variety of ICT media over the years which has improved my delivery of lessons. These include Microsoft word, PowerPoint, excel, class dojo and ActivePrimary interactive whiteboard software. With all my experience I do not class myself as the finished article. I am always looking for ways, methods and techniques to improve my teaching ability.
I am a driven, ambitious, and sociable teacher with 21 years of experience teaching in an independent and state school setting. I am a committed, supportive, and positive team member who strives to motivate and inspire pupils of all abilities to succeed. Colleagues tell me that I am an excellent person to be around due to my upbeat nature and sense of humour.
I am an enthusiastic and fun teacher. I try to engage all pupils with my passion for teaching whilst differentiating for specific learners. I motivate and inspire pupils of all abilities to succeed.
I have been told that I am a good ‘people person,’ and maintain positive working relationships with my colleagues. I value teamwork highly and feel that it is extremely important to work together to achieve a common goal.
