I am a qualified secondary school mathematics teacher, with a 2:1 degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Lancaster and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from the University of Cambridge. I am passionate about mathematics and enjoy teaching. My enthusiasm for numeracy is noted in my reviews and adds to the motivation of my students.
I served 19 years as an officer in the RAF, retiring in the summer of 2016.
I have 5 years experience of teaching secondary mathematics, at The Cavendish School in Eastbourne, and have also provided one-to-one mathematics tuition privately with consistently excellent results, particularly at GCSE.
I tailor my tutoring to individual needs and learning styles. I am enthusiastic about my subject and the benefits that numeracy brings. My students are encouraged to feel happy, confident and relaxed with their tuition. Learning objectives are agreed together and I believe that my success as a tutor is reflected in the success of achieving those objectives. Past papers play a large part in my approach with year 11 students.
