I am a graduate from University College London and will be doing my foundation year this August. My tutoring experience is mainly in two areas: medical interview preparation and university medical exams. I love tutoring and I am motivated to help others succeed in their studies.

--- Academics ---

2013-2015: Concord College UK - A-Levels. Was an international student in this competitive and highly-ranked boarding school. I have went through the process of adapting to a completely different education system, and therefore, understand it well.

2015: Received offers to study Medicine at Imperial College London and University College London (UCL).

2015-2021: University College London - Medicine MBBS iBSc.

Pre-clinical years: developed strategic techniques to enhance my learning, which I then used when tutoring others.

Clinical years: enhanced my communication and teamwork skills through working with colleagues and patients from various backgrounds.

iBSc: intercalated BSc in Immunology, Infection and Cell Pathology. Developed skills in research methodology and published a research article in ‘EMBO reports’.

2017-2020: Awarded Concord Ambassadorial Scholarship for outstanding personal and academic performance as a student and my willingness to contribute to the alumni community.

2019-2020: Student academic representative for Year 5 UCL medical students.

2021-now: Alumni Ambassador for Concord College.

Tutoring Experience

--- Medical interview preparation ---

2016: Peer tutoring at City & Islington College 6th Form Centre. Worked in small groups for three weeks.

2016-2019: Concord College Online. One-to-one online sessions with 6th Form students, five to ten times per year.

2017: Course Assistant in the ‘Medicine University Preparation Course’ for two weeks at Concord College.

2018: UniAdmissions: Non-Oxbridge Medicine tutorial lead in the ‘Intensive Interview Course Day’.

--- University: clinical examinations ---

2018-2021: Examiner for UCL society mock OSCEs (clinical exams).

2021: Attended UCL Medical School half-day teaching course on how to effectively conduct medical student bedside teaching.

2021: Completed bedside teaching sessions on clinical examinations for UCL 5th Year students.

--- University: written examinations ---

2021-2022: Tutor for Year 4 Case of the Module at UCL Medical School. Attended training for giving constructive feedback. Reviewed and provided personalised feedback on coursework that is commonly tested in exams for UCL 4th Year medical students.

2022: Co-authored a 10-page teaching resource on tested eye diseases for UCL 5th Year medical students.

2022: Co-presented the teaching booklet in the neuro-ophthalmology masterclass lecture for UCL 4th Year medical students.

Tutoring Approach

My main approach is to make things look simple and memorable, so that complex topics that often look overwhelming are firstly understood and then differentiated and categorised for better recall.

Every person is different in the way they learn and so we will work together to identify the methods that work best for the student and adapt accordingly.

Session 1: A free introductory session for 30 minutes. Its purpose is to find out more about the student's overall learning goals, strengths and areas for improvement, current learning techniques and to make a plan for the following sessions.

• Dissecting the types of questions asked in interviews - creating a structure and understanding.
• Teaching: based on student needs, usually medical ethics.
• Mock interviews with constructive feedback.
• Learning material for next sessions: what to read, what to practice and how to improve the next mock interview.

• Understanding the topics - how to structure your learning and differentiate conditions.

• Teaching: most important content to learn for OSCEs, presented in a structured way.
