Hello, my name is Guillem and I am from Barcelona, Spain. I am a devoted educator with over five years' experience with a love for research, interacting with struggling students, and a sunny day out. I love turning confusing concepts into "aha!" moments that translate into real improvements in their final marks. When I'm not working or reading, you'll find me out hiking or playing tennis with my friends. Hope to help you succeed!
I have 5 years of teaching experience.
At PHD Tutor (previously PHD Academy), I was a remote tutor for over 2 years where I provided tailored one-on-one and small-group lessons in physics, computer science, and statistics at AP, Bachelor's, and Master's levels. My approach merges project-based exercises, certified problem sets, and discussion-based questioning.
Most recently, I was a lecturer assistant in University of Zürich between September 2022 and June 2024. I assisted in modules that consisted of nuclear physics, quantum mechanics, and imaging technology. I designed and led tutorials that helped students understand core principles - from radioactive decay and wave dynamics to NMR and phase-contrast imaging.
At Boston University, from September 2019 to June 2022, I was a Teaching & Research Assistant. I worked on weekly discussion sessions, office hours, and exam reviews for undergraduate physics courses covering up to electromagnetism, quantum mechanics and modern physics. I also co-developed a data-and-network-science curriculum that merged programming and visualisation tools into physics and chemistry modules.
My goal is to ensure students not only grasp formulas but also apply them to open-ended problems, because I also do not like surprises during exams! I am ready to help unlock your full potential in physics, math, and data science, by providing flexible and sensible support: one-on-one guidance, clear explanations, and resources you can revisit anytime (I have no problem recording lessons). I will tailor sessions that target your weaknesses as well as to find your strengths, and I cannot wait to hear the "aha!" moments.
