Hi, my name is Hannah and I’m currently studying the Science Extended Degree at the University of Huddersfield, with plans to progress onto a degree in Optometry this September. I have a strong academic background in STEM, having studied A-level Maths, Chemistry, and Physics at Heckmondwike Grammar School.

At GCSE level, I achieved high grades across a range of subjects, including:

• Maths – 7
• English Language – 8
• English Literature – 7
• BTEC Sport – Distinction* (equivalent to Grade 8)

I’m passionate about education and helping students reach their full potential, especially in maths and science subjects.

Tutoring Experience

I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where the child feels confident to ask questions and make mistakes. I tailor each session to suit the student’s individual learning style, using clear explanations, visual aids, and practice questions to reinforce understanding.

I start by identifying any gaps in knowledge and building a strong foundation before moving on to new or challenging topics. I encourage active participation through interactive methods like mini-quizzes, games, and real-life examples to make learning enjoyable and relatable.

Most importantly, I aim to boost the child’s confidence and help them develop a positive attitude towards learning. I provide regular feedback and celebrate progress, no matter how small, to keep motivation high.

Tutoring Approach

I’m a part-time Islamic Studies teacher with hands-on experience working with children and supporting their learning. I hold Level 1 and Level 2 Teaching Assisting qualifications, along with up-to-date safeguarding certifications. My sessions are tailored to each child’s needs, focusing on building confidence, understanding, and a positive attitude toward learning. I use interactive and engaging methods to make subjects like maths more approachable and enjoyable.
