Hi! My name is Heather and I specialise in teaching Biology at KS3, GCSE and A-Level.
I am a fully-qualified Science teacher and a former Head of Biology.
I have a PGCE in Science from Birmingham City University, a PhD and MSc in Systems Biology from The University of Warwick and a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from The University of Birmingham.
I have been teaching and tutoring for 11 years, and enjoy working with students to help them gain confidence in Biology!
My approach is student-lead, looking to build a strong subject knowledge foundation alongside examination preparation and technique. I love my subject, and use a variety of different methods to engage students and work with them to build on what they enjoy about Biology. Each week may be different, depending on what the student has gone through at school and what stage they are at in their course.
I currently offer online tuition via Teams, where I screen-share PowerPoint presentations for specific course content, or mark-schemes and feedback for questions to build confidence in examination technique.
