I’m a former London primary school teacher with over 35 years of experience, specialising in dyslexia support since 2005 (trained at Dyslexia Action). I’ve been teaching children with dyslexia and literacy difficulties ever since. During the pandemic, I successfully transitioned to online teaching and now deliver all my lessons via Zoom, mainly after school from 4pm onwards. I’m passionate about making learning fun and engaging — my lessons are relaxed but focused, helping children build confidence as well as skills. My lessons are £45 for 45 minutes delivered online via Zoom.
I started teaching in 1986 and have spent much of my career supporting children with reading, spelling, phonics, grammar, and SATs preparation for Year 6. I cover all the core literacy skills, including high-frequency words and spelling patterns, and tailor my teaching step-by-step to each child’s needs. I specialise in working with primary-aged children (7–12) and those with dyslexia or other literacy challenges. My students often say they love coming to lessons because they feel supported and encouraged every step of the way.
I believe learning should be positive and confidence-boosting. I take a patient, gradual approach that breaks down skills into manageable steps, helping children progress without pressure. Lessons include plenty of practice and fun activities designed to keep young learners engaged. A unique bonus? My two Golden Retrievers sometimes make quiet cameos on Zoom — they’re a hit with my students but never interrupt lessons! Outside teaching, I’m a musician and composer, which inspires my creative teaching style.
