I am a Primary School Teacher with 10 years teaching experience in EYFS, KS1 and KS2. I am currently on my second maternity leave so prior to my first maternity leave in 2019 I was a full-time teacher in the classroom. I have had experience teaching in Nursery, Reception and Year 1.
After my return from my first maternity in 2020 I decided to return part-time as a teacher, so I have been covering every class and year group across my school.
I offer personalised and engaging tutoring sessions that are tailored to your child’s needs and goals. I use a variety of methods and resources to make learning fun and effective, such as games, puzzles, songs, stories and work books. I also provide regular feedback and progress reports to help you monitor your child’s improvement.
My tutoring services cover the following subjects and areas:
Maths: I can help your child develop their numeracy skills, such as counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, shapes, measurements, time and money. I can also prepare your child for the Key Stage 1 and 2 maths tests and SATs.
Phonics: I can help your child learn the sounds of the letters and how to blend them to read and write words. I can also help your child with spelling, punctuation and grammar. I can also prepare your child for the phonics screening check in Year 1 and the spelling, punctuation and grammar test in Year 6.
Early years writing: I can help your child develop their handwriting, vocabulary and sentence structure. I can also help your child with creative writing, such as stories, poems and letters.
I have been highly recommended by word of mouth from parents that I have tutored.
Every child is different, so I will start by assessing them to see what their weaknesses are, then I will work together with their parents to overcome them. I will use a nurturing approach where I will boost their confidence to teach in a fun way to meet their needs.
I will set the child weekly homework, which will replicate what they have learnt with me that week and this then will reinforce the learning.
Available Wednesday, Thursday, Friday after school hours and weekend mornings.
