I am an experienced teacher of Classics, with a passion for the stories of the ancient world. As well as a love of the writers from Greece and Rome, in particular Euripides and Cicero, I enjoy reading modern historical novels set set in the classical world.

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced teacher of Classics, having taught Latin, Greek and Classical Civilisation from Years 7 to Year 13 for over a decade. I have also held positions of pastoral responsibility, including Head of House. I have privately tutored students who are studying Latin and Greek in school, as well as those who are taking the subject independently.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is first to put the tutee at their ease and create an environment where they can feel relaxed about mistakes. Most problems arise from not understanding the building blocks, and I have a number of techniques to help tutees feel secure on these including:

* quizzes
* mnemonics
* targeted practice questions
