I am an enthusiastic and committed primary school teacher living in Netherlee with my husband and our daughters and teaching in East Renfrewshire. Outside of teaching in a school setting, I tutor young beginner and developing musicians as well as adult learners in traditional Scots fiddle.
I have 8 years experience teaching in Primary schools in East Renfrewshire and have been tutoring primary school aged children for many years. I hold both a PGDE in Primary Teaching and an honours degree in Psychology. Both of these contribute to an in-depth understanding of the varied and complex needs of individual learners.
I am passionate about supporting children to reach their academic potential in a gentle and encouraging manner. Every learner requires an individualised program of support tailored specifically to their academic needs. I provide this through an initial consultation during which I collect information from parents and learners regarding areas of strength and areas requiring development as well as information about individual learning style. I can also provide a program of homework to develop and reinforce skills learned during tutoring sessions. Through regular discussion and monitoring of progress, we can identify a program of teaching and learning which will ensure positive development and confidence in every learner.
