I am a dedicated professional within education, reaching the Headship of a Secondary School. I have been responsible, as Head of Department or School Leader, for the development of Mathematics in six schools, providing training, learning programmes and resourses. I have obtained the post Director of Mathematics at a Maths and Computing College and would like to help people with their maths or numeracy as a personal tutor.

Tutoring Experience

I am a highly qualified and experienced maths teacher. I have tutored numerous secondary school students, ensuring success at Grade C and A* at GCSE. Primary School pupils have received help with numeracy and with preparation for secondary school (including entry exams). I have tutored Year 7 and 8 students to gain confidence, establishing high numeracy skills, and understanding of maths topics, ready for GCSE Courses. Special Needs students have received tuition directly suited to their individual development and helping their progress towards GCSE Courses. Adults have been able to obtain very important qualifications and parents gain the skills and knowledge to help their children with their education.

Tutoring Approach

I have extensive practice in assessing students individual needs and providing the professional teaching approach and resourses for their progress.I use a variety of media including access to online materials, recently published resourses and activities, as well as practice papers and revision strategies. Tutoring is offered on a one-to-basis, in your home, at a time to suit you. My aim is to help, support, encourage and enable each individual to acheive of their very best in mathematics. Students maybe from Secondary or Primary Schools, have Special Needs or are Adults, each seeking confidence with numeracy skills or preparation for examinations.
