My name is Ilinca and I am an experienced and enthusiastic English and Psychology tutor who is currently studying BSc Psychology with Education at UCL, in which I am on track to finish with First Class Honours. I achieved 9 grade 9’s in my GCSEs (2019), and 3 A*’s at A-Level (2021). I love tutoring, and the subjects themselves, hence my significant experience in the field, and I always put my 100% into my work to ensure that each student is reaching their full potential, and improving beyond that. This means that I assure I am providing lessons of the highest quality, and that I am very effective in my teaching. I have taught several students that had a predicted grade of 4-6 in English, but after tutoring, they ended up achieving grades 7-9. Every student has the ability to succeed, and I will ensure that they do so by strengthening their understanding of the content, and also how to put it into practice, so they definitely succeed in their exams.
I also do free 15 minute online video calls in which we can further discuss your needs and requirements.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Hope to hear from you soon!

I have been in the education and teaching sector for 5 years. I am still actively tutoring at a tuition centre (since 2019) at which I have worked with all ages, but I specialise particularly in GCSE English Language and Literature. I have taught all exam boards, specifically AQA and Edexcel, and all books, plays, and poetry. I create my own resources, including worksheets, and guidance booklets for exam questions, and I individualise my teaching style to each student.
During COVID, I continued to teach but online over Zoom. I maintained the creation of my own resources, but adapted them to be suitable for online use, such as emailing the content to students before and/or after the lesson so they could prepare and revise. Since the beginning of 2023, I have also been teaching on an online tutoring platform, gaining over 50 hours on the platform, as well as over 50 hours on Zoom.
As part of my gap year, I worked in a secondary school, where I had several roles and I worked with all year groups. I would assist in English lessons, lead some myself, and also work privately with students that required more help. Some of these students were EFL learners, so I took on this aspects of teaching as well. Furthermore, I participated in the teaching of GCSE Psychology classes.
As I already mentioned, I generally create my own resources that suit both the needs and the ability of the student. For online tutoring, I use Microsoft OneNote for all students. I create a separate folder for each student where each lesson will take place, and all activities completed during and outside of the lesson will be in this folder. I then share the link to the folder with the student so that they have access to the content at all times, and so that they can interact directly with the activities throughout the lesson. During the lesson, I screen share the page of the folder that we are using for that day, and we will go ahead with the planned content - examples being annotating texts and paragraph writing.
I am a patient tutor and I always make sure that the student is engaged with the lesson material, and that they are truly understanding the content, by adapting the lesson to suit their needs and ability. I am also a very friendly individual, and I believe it is important to develop a relationship in which the student trusts me, so that they are honest with me about where they might be struggling in the subject. I also ensure to maintain consistent contact with the parents with updates about their progress, and I am always available to answer any questions or concerns.
