I am a specialist speech and language therapist with experience supporting children and young people aged 2-18 years old and their families. My specialism is in supporting children with language difficulties and disorders. I currently work part-time for the Isle of Wight NHS service, and before this I worked in mainstream primary and secondary schools, supporting children with a range of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), including ASC/ASD, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay (GDD), language disorders, stammering, selective mutism, and speech delays and disorders.
I also have experience supporting children with literacy difficulties, including dyslexia. Many children with SLCN also have literacy difficulties, and I strongly believe that these children are best supported with an integrated approach. In addition, I provide assessment and diagnosis of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).
Please contact me to arrange a free consultation to find out how I could support your child to achieve their full potential!
I have worked as a speech and language therapist in both NHS and non-NHS settings, and have worked with pre-school, primary-aged and secondary-aged children (my experience extends from age 2 to age 18).
As a speech and language therapist, I am able to support children with a variety of difficulties and disorders. This includes children with attention and listening difficulties (including ADHD), social communication difficulties (including autism spectrum conditions), receptive and expressive language difficulties and disorders (including DLD), and speech sound delays and disorders (including SSD, verbal dyspraxia and inconsistent phonological disorder). I use a variety of approaches depending on the needs of the child and their family.
Assessment and therapy are usually carried out face-to-face, although teletherapy (e.g. via Zoom) may also be appropriate for older children and teenagers. I can travel to anywhere on the island, and can see clients either at home or in school, depending on parental preference.
