I am a dedicated and passionate teacher and a former Head of EAL (English as an Additional Language) with 16 years of experience in delivering high-quality education and upholding the highest standards. Currently, working for Leicester College as an ESOL Lecturer.
At my previous work, I taught English Functional Skills and ESOL, as well as History and the Growth Curriculum, which covered topics related to PSHE, RE, Careers, RSE, and Citizenship.
From January 2016 to December 2024, I was the Head of the EAL Faculty, where I delivered English Functional lessons and managed other responsibilities supporting our EAL students.
My extensive experience working across the 11–16 age range has enabled me to employ a variety of teaching styles, improving student outcomes and equipping pupils with the knowledge and skills needed for success.
My teaching philosophy centers around creating an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel confident using English in practical and real-life contexts. I focus on a communicative approach, emphasizing interaction and speaking skills while integrating listening, reading, and writing to meet students' needs. I also tailor lessons to individual goals, whether for academic, professional, or social use.
