My name is Issy and I am a fully qualified secondary Music teacher and semi-professional musician with over 10 years teaching experience. I am fully DBS checked, and I am available for home visits in St Columb Major and the surrounding areas at no extra cost.

Tutoring Experience

I am qualified to teach up to Grade 8 Piano and Cello, Grade 5 Bass Guitar and beginner guitar and ukulele. I have experience teaching GCSE, A Level and BTEC Music, so I am also able to support you with these studies.

Tutoring Approach

Lessons are based around your personal goals and what you would like to achieve, whether that is developing your confidence and playing for your own enjoyment, or passing specific grade exams on your instrument. I cover a range of skills and aim to develop your understanding of music theory and reading music, as well as developing scales and arpeggios, and performance pieces.

I welcome all ages and abilities, it’s never too late to start learning! I also have experience of working with students with special educational needs, visually impaired and deaf students, and I am more than happy to adapt lessons to suit individual students.
