As a working mother of two boys and a governor at my local primary school I am committed to improving the life chances of young people through the power of education. I studied English Literature at university and then worked in secondary schools for over 15 years before joining an education charity training early career teachers.
Having gained QTS in 2002 I worked as an English teacher in London Secondary Schools. As a former Head of English I have a deep understanding of the English curriculum and have a track record of excellent outcomes at GCSE and A Level. I have previously examined for WJEC and AQA exam boards.
