HI, I'm Daiyan, a current physics student at the University of Oxford! I've achieved 7 9s and 2 8s (equivalent to 11 A*s) in my GCSEs, along with A*A*AA in my A Levels. I enjoy teaching a lot, working hard in fostering a genuine interest in my students, and ensuring they achieve the very best they can.
I have taught programming to students of a wide range of ages (12-18) at my previous school. Since then, I have taught in a long-term one-to-one maths programme and several one-to-one classes in physics. I have also taught students from low socio-economic backgrounds harder A Level content in preparation for university entrance exams.
My approach is based on the Oxford tutorial system, where I encourage students to think and ask their own questions. I find this the best way for students to engage deeply with their subject and properly understand key concepts instead of memorising formulae. In my experience, this is an effective method in building problem-solving skills.
I make use of past paper questions, since it's by far the best way to practice for the real thing! It also allows me to understand where holes in knowledge may be and therefore where to direct the focus in subsequent lessons.
