Isobel

Hi! I’m Isobel, a recent graduate from the University of Cambridge, reading English. Coming from a disadvantaged background, I understand the importance of education as a tool to empower and allow us to take our future into our own hands. The reason I love English and Drama is that they allow us a glimpse into the lives of others, and offer ways to educate ourselves both intellectually and emotionally.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored for family and friends throughout my time at university, as well as having previously led study groups within my friendship group in the run up to exams.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in allowing the student’s intuition to guide discussion. Because both English and Drama are incredibly subjective areas of study, I believe that instinct is the best way to begin! From there I would be keen to look at specific texts or passages a student may feel stuck on or unsure about, discussing how they may make them feel or what they call to mind as a way to begin analysis.
