Hi, my name's Jack, I'm a trainee secondary school teacher and I offer private tuition in psychology, sociology, and maths. I have recently completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Loughborough University where I graduated with First Class Honours, and I am now completing my PGCE (Secondary). Outside of academics, I enjoy volunteering and have lots of experience helping in the local community. I also enjoy arts and photography, going to the gym, watching Formula 1, and going on long walks - anything to get me outdoors!
I am currently training to be a secondary school teacher, specialising in teaching Psychology at KS4 (GCSE) and KS5 (A-Level and IB). I also teach on the Sociology, Criminology, and Social Anthropology courses.
Additionally, I have experience working as an Assistant Psychologist in the NHS, using applied clinical and forensic psychological approaches to support youth offenders with mental health difficulties in the community - so my psychology knowledge goes beyond the classroom!
Furthermore, I have lots of private tutor experience tutoring maths up to and including GCSE level, helping students of all abilities to improve their maths expertise in time for important exams.
As much as I enjoy learning, I understand not everyone feels the same way, so I try to make my tutoring sessions as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. What we cover in each session will be decided by the tutee so session content is tailored to meet your individual needs. I incorporate a mix of teaching approaches into my sessions including content revision, discussions, activities, videos, and practice questions with model answers to ensure all content is covered in depth and students leave sessions more confident in their knowledge of the topics covered.
Exam techniques are a big part of succeeding at both GCSE and A-Level/IB so I make sure to incorporate practice exam questions into every session so by the time your exams come around you will hopefully feel more confident in knowing what you need to include in each answer.
All sessions will be charged at £35 and this includes the hour 1-1 session as well as prior research, preparation, and production of supporting materials/resources. All sessions will be online.
