Private English and Study Skills Tuition in Croy

I am a writer and tutor, and author of the book Grammar Made Easy. I have considerable experience of working with students of all ages. I tutor in my own home and in students' homes. At present I am offering lessons via GoogleMeet.

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced writer and tutor, having written, and ghost written, several books. Since November 2014 I have been a study skills tutor at the University of Stirling, working in particular with students with dyslexia and those with autism. As of 2021 I also work with students from several universities across Scotland. I also tutor secondary aged children, up to Advanced Higher English level. Last year one of my students achieved 97% in her prelim.

Tutoring Approach

I am happy to give students homework to work on in between sessions, so that they are getting more from their time with me. This allows them the chance to work on their own for a bit each week, with feedback given when we meet. This also means that parents are getting a bit more for their money. I aim to get students relaxed with me. If they are relaxed they will find learning easier and will feel more at ease asking me questions.
