I am a student at Imperial College London studying mathematics. Mathematics has been my favorite subject throughout my childhood and this has continued into university. Through my experiences, I have learned that mathematics is a subject that is difficult for many people in high school and I hope to make them enjoy the subject as I do.
I have taught younger students mathematics in India which is where I am from. Additionally, I have also taken part in a plethora of community service activities which involved teaching students not only maths but also other subjects and general life skills. These have enhanced my ability and made my teaching skills better.
I believe that the best way to teach is through a visual medium and presentations. These tend to be much more engaging and easier to understand than a teacher simply talking and writing on a whiteboard. I also believe that an excellent way to learn is through examples rather than simply trying to memorise. This is especially important in learning maths because it is not a subject that can be memorised but rather one that people must be able to understand before excelling at it.
