I am a qualified GCSE English language teacher. I currently teach at a college. I teach students who were left behind at school or just didn’t enjoy English and now have to retake English alongside a vocational course. Therefore, I am realistic about the difficulty students face.
I am an enthusiastic motivator and passionate about English. I will do my best to make a significant impact on my students to ensure that each student feels comfortable with the quality of teaching they are receiving. Also, I relate to most people of all ages and backgrounds. I build positive relationships with my students and provide feedback to parents on how their child is progressing.
I have an enhanced DBS to ensure your child is safe during my tutoring sessions.
My tutoring is customised to the individual needs of the student. I have well planned and structured lessons that keep students engaged and put in a let of effort for each of my students to maximise their learning with the time spent in each lesson. I increase student’s confidence in moths by making moths simple and enjoyable!
As a GCSE examiner, I know where students can go wrong in the exam. My way of teaching is providing the best methods of answering the question correctly and quickly to gain maximum marks.
For the past seven years I have taught GCSE language at college. I am also an examiner for an examining body. I have further qualifications in English as a foreign language.
The key to passing an exam is understanding the criteria and the question. Firstly, I ensure that a student is comfortable with what is required from the exam. I teach students strategies and skills how to approach the exam, such as timed questions, reading skills, contextual skills etc. I challenge and encourage students to use their own general knowledge to answer questions and not to be scared that they are incorrect. Finally, I give critical and detailed feedback on how to improve.
