Hi, my name is James and I am a medical student at Imperial College London! I believe that in order to teach science and maths, understanding is a fundamental tool. I believe in logically working through concepts instead of forced memorisation. Science is often about a linked sequence of events, so in my lessons, I aim to unpick details and comprehensively answer questions that students have. I can offer exam guidance in the subjects I tutor and more specifically, I can help students wishing to study medicine, healthcare or science courses in the future with all aspects of their application. I have worked in the tutoring industry, teaching biology, chemistry, mathematics as well as UCAT. I also have a national position at an organisation aiming to increase accessibility to medical school. I am more than happy to nurture and stimulate a passion for the subjects I teach by providing extra resources and activities.
Tutoring has always been a passion of mine. I have lots of experience and extensive subject knowledge, tutoring students from KS3 to KS5. If you are looking to excel, you have come to the right place. As a motivated individual, I aim to equip my students with the tools and skill set required to succeed in their exams. I also feel it is important to have a tutor who understands the demands of current examinations and school life. As I have personally achieved all 9s at GCSE and all A*s at A-level, I believe I can share my knowledge, tips and tricks to students wishing to excel.
My approach is patient and dedicated. I aim to work alongside students, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in an accessible and engaging way. This ensures that my students aren't inherently memorising information but truly understanding the source, relevance and applications of that topic. This is particularly important for students wishing to go into countless fields including medicine and engineering as these disciplines involve the application of fact to real-life situations.
