I am happy to offer tutoring in Science and Maths up to GSCE. My previous career was in Structural Engineering and I would love to use my real world industry experience to help show how science and maths are relevant and useful in the real world. I think that education should be enjoyable and a sense of humour helps with learning.
I am currently working as a Learning Support Assistant in a respected local secondary school. I completed my PGCE at the UEA specialising in science, which has given me experience working with young people and teaching in three different schools. As part of my current role at school and outside of school I have over a years experience of helping pupils one to one, including pupils with SEN.
I like to discuss topics and usually use a small whiteboard to draw out concepts and examples. I will prepare a quick verbal quiz to start each session. I can provide lots of advice on where to go for additional study materials and activities and usually set some independent work to do which we can review at the next session.
