Our son has been working with James now for the past few weeks and we couldn’t be happier. Our son’s confidence with areas of maths he was struggling with since working with James has significantly improved, in our son’s words “James just has a way to make things simple” we would highly recommend.

James is excellent with my son and he is really enjoying the lessons. The lessons have been easy to arrange and James is always on time a we have also been doing virtual lessons which have worked really well - all in all very pleased!

Our daughter has not long started having maths tutoring with James, but has already gained confidence. James is kind, patient and explains things in a way she understands. He has shown her new techniques for learning and has kept her engaged. Our daughter looks forward to her lessons. Thank you!

James is responsive, punctual and adapts the tuition to fit my sons needs. My son has found he understands concepts better within maths at school since working with James. I'd recommend him!

James has been working with our child for a few months now and the improvement in his maths ability was apparent straight away and is being noticed in school lessons too. Our son wasn't thrilled at the idea of doing more work outside school hours but the way James is in his sessions makes that go away.

James is always on time and any communication needed with him is excellent with quick responses. We couldn't of asked for a better tutor to assist us.

After first session my daughters felt that he is the right tutor for them to teach mathematics and they are very happy with the approach which is James's specialty to understand and change according to the required methods.

James is always on time and has a lovely calm way of teaching. He has given great tips on how to get the most points possible out of exams, so not only is he teaching key principles and the understanding but the application in exams too. I would recommend James to others.

James has been tutoring my 15 year old son for a few weeks, James is always prompt and very friendly, he has built up a good relationship with my son who finds his maths tuition very helpful.

My daughter has recently started with James to support her with preparation for her GCSEs. From the very first lesson my daughter has said just how approachable James is with his teaching. She has felt at ease and has said just how beneficial these sessions are being able to run through prior papers, learning the syllabus as well as working on exam preparation and technique which sometimes isn't focused on so much within school.
As a result of how pleased we are, we have also scheduled for my 13 year old to now begin sessions as she struggles with Maths in general so a different set of support but we are sure James can assist. Would highly recommend.

My daughter’s first session went very well with James. We all felt very at ease, James is very friendly and warm which goes a long way with my reluctant teenager. My daughter felt more confident than she has felt for a long time after the first hour-long may it continue! Would highly recommend

James is a fabulous Maths tutor to my ten year old son. He has already built his confidence and improved his Maths skills, showing him different ways of problem solving. James has a calm and considerate approach which has proved effective in grasping my sons attention and enabling him to quickly develop within his problem areas.

James combines both his clear Mathematical knowledge with an excellent teaching approach to deliver great results. My son is now excited to sit his previously dreaded SATS exams.

James has a great ability to connect with student who are unhappy or uncomfortable studying maths, and turning that negativity into a positive attitude. In the time that James has been tutoring my son I have seen his confidence increase and his attitude change from 'I cant do this' to ' I understand this' and an increase in his scores.

James has just given his first Maths lesson to a very reluctant 12 year old, and within just a few minutes had him engaged. That extra support is what he clearly needed and have booked James in for regular weekly lessons.

My daughter was really concerned that she ‘didn’t have a brain for maths’ as she couldn’t understand it in her lessons. She’d been dropped to a lower set and felt downhearted. James has been helping her for 4 weeks and her confidence has improved dramatically. He explains maths problems in a way she can clearly understand and they get through so much in an hour. I highly recommend James as a tutor. He’s calm and patient, and has already made a real difference.

From the first enquiry, James was very prompt in responding to messages and a 'test' session with my son was quickly arranged. James is helping my son with his GCSE maths and after only 3 sessions his confidence in maths is already improving. He reportedly answered a question in a maths class in school which nobody else knew the answer to and was delighted to be able to correctly answer a grade 8 question.

Mr James has started tutoring my 11 year old a few weeks ago. He is very professional, turns up on time and any communication is prompt. My son (year 6) had lost confidence since missing school with lockdown, James has been working week to week on whatever he’s struggling with which is building his confidence back up, he’s always happy when he finishes his session. James has been brilliant in building Ollie's confidence with regards to his maths abilities; both myself and Ollie's teacher have noticed an improvement in his confidence, so much so he is choosing to take on further extension work in class. We are looking forward to seeing how far Ollie can go with maths and seeing his confidence grow further.

James was prompt to reply and communicated well. I only noticed after paying the website the introduction fee that James had said in a message that he only tutors from home. For us this was unsuitable. This was no fault of James' at all.
I think that there is scope for confusion on the initial page of each tutor (due to the setup of the site), in that, there is a picture of a car followed by a message saying 'can meet in person'. I took this to mean that a tutor can drive to meet you in person at whatever location suits. I think that the site setup could be slightly clearer on this point. Sorry for leaving this on your page James, but it was the only option given by the email from the site. To anyone reading this, I'm sure that James is a fabulous tutor and thank you once again for your time.

Very happy with James so far. My 15 year old son is enjoying the lessons and that is praise indeed!!

Excellent start!

James has always been very prompt and courteous and is always prepared for the planned work each week. My daughter feels at ease with him and James is working with her to find the level she is comfortable working with. He is happy to fit in more tutoring where possible in order to achieve the best possible outcome for Olivia in a short time.

I would happily recommend him to others looking for a tutor.
