I have taught Mathematics for most of my working life, from year 7 up to A level and including GCSE maths. I have also taught other subjects such as Physics and chemistry up to GCSE standard. I have an interest in the country life and often walk with my wife. I enjoy music and play guitar and listen to Classical, Blues and Jazz music. My wife and I travel whenever we can and enjoy exploring new places never seen before.

Tutoring Experience

I have years of classroom experience as a Mathematics teacher to GCSE groups in Foundation and Higher tiers. I have also taught A level Mathematics at AS, A2 and Further Maths levels. I have experience with teaching large groups and also mall group sizes. I have spent years teaching 1 to 1 and enjoy nothing better than to work with students who may be struggling in the subject and to help them find confidence. I also enjoy working with high ability students and to help them reach new and even higher goals.

I have worked in Secondary School, Further Education Colleges and University. So my experience of teaching is wide and I have also spent a lot of time working with Adults of all ages.
I am also have experience teaching online and I am happy to do so if requested.
I HAVE QUALIFIED TEACHING STATUS WHICH I GAINED DURING MY TIME AS A TEACHER AND I CAN PRODUCE EVIDENCE AS SUCH (Gained in 2008, I also hold a teacher training Certificate for University Teaching.)

Tutoring Approach

I have a relaxed approach and try to build up the confidence of the student. Also I try to show the student that the subject can be enjoyable and something they can take with them through life. I try to encourage the student to be at ease and use a diagnostic approach to analyse the students issues and problems they may face. In this way I try to build up confidence and self-belief, which a crucial to improving the students achievement and performance.
