I am a fully qualified and experienced teacher with a PGCE, QTS and a 1st class honours degree in French from Durham University, as well as a degree in English from the Sorbonne in Paris. I am a keen linguist, having lived and worked much of my working life in France in bilingual jobs (in education and in an international law firm).
Most recently, I have been a successful and trusted Class Teacher for the past 9 years in an excellent local primary school where I was also subject leader for French.
I have tutored a range of subjects and ages over the years, as well as adults.
As I enjoy working with young people, for many years I have volunteered to lead and help with children's groups at my local church.
As a tutor, I am patient, kind and enthusiastic and want to make learning fun and memorable for my pupils. I adapt my teaching to different learning styles and personalities. I enjoy enabling my students to gain in confidence and succeed in their goals. I am keen to pass on my own passion for languages and can share insights into life in France.
I offer 1 to 1 tuition in secondary French, up to GCSE, as well as the full range of Primary subjects, including Maths and English to year 6 (including SATS).
I can also offer tuition to adults both in French and English as a Foreign Language, whether for travel or work purposes.
