I am a qualified teacher, with a specialisation in early years primary teaching. I have lived and worked in Italy & France learning both languages whilst living in the country. I am married with 2 (adult) step children and love to spend my freetime outdoors: walking, surfing, rockpooling & beach combing.
On leaving university in 1990 I worked in Italy & France teaching English as a foreign language. I returned to the UK in 1994 to embark on a 10 year career as a business systems trainer in industry; although based in the UK I worked across Europe & the USA training employees to use a new business system called SAP. In 2005 I returned to college to gain Qualified Teacher Status specialising in Early Years Education (3 to 7 years). I currently teach French in three local primary schools.
In addition to my systems training work in industry I have also worked as a tutor in an IT Learning Shop supporting adults to gain IT / literacy / numeracy qualifications.
Working one to one with a person enables me to tailor the teaching and learning to meet your specific needs e.g. working on phonics to help your pronunciation, verb tenses or just conversation.
Wherever possible I like to use practical activities to support your learning although I do still use text books or worksheets.
