Janet has been a fantastic tutor for my son this year. The group English Language sessions worked really well for him and he preferred this to 1 to 1. Each half term he completed a past paper and Janet gave detailed feedback on how he could improve. He also took part in a selection of English Literature sessions nearer to the exams. He achieved 7s in both Language and Literature which helped him to secure his place at sixth form. I would definitely recommend Janet. Her extensive knowledge of the exams and how they are marked and graded really helped my son to focus on what he needed to do to improve.

Janet is a excellent tutor and my son has enjoyed learning from her. She is calm and adapts her teaching to suit him, which was great. Lots of examples used to help him learn and very patient in helping him understand things.

Lockdown has been difficult but the online tutoring has worked really well.

Initially, when I started looking for English tutors it was just after my first mock exam in year 11. Having gotten a grade 5 in English literature and 4 in English language at mock, Janet not only boosted my confidence but also helped me to explore texts in depth and justify my opinions. Result of this, I achieved grade 9 in English literature and a grade 8 in language at GCSE with all due thanks to Janet; she accommodated for me and my needs even if I'd started quite late on in the lead up to my final exams.

She imparted in me her knowledge, not only as a tutor but also as the senior examiner. This was not only useful for the exams but also applicable in every aspect of my education. She was always concise and caring answering all my questions along the way and preparing various tasks to keep me challenged, focused and confident for my exams. Also, her revision guides were the best in ensuring I had example essays on top of what she'll give me during class. Together with practising essays and having regular feedback from Janet enabled me to achieve my grades, which otherwise would not have been possible.

She is simply the best!

Janet is teaching my daughter English in preparation for GCSE. My daughter finds Janet’s lessons very helpful and enjoyable and her confidences in her own abilities, as well as her motivation have flourished. English Language and Literature has become more understandable and much less of a drag than before and this is reflected in a more upbeat approach as well as in her school work.
