I am a native German speaker, who has been living in the UK for over five years, studying Education Studies at the University of Worcester and then completing a PGCE in German with French as a second language.
I was born and grew up in Germany, having completed my German Abitur in 2011.
When I was 16, I took a gap year to England in order to improve my knowledge of the English language and I discovered my passion for the UK, which is why I decided to move to Worcester to complete my Bachelor Degree in Education Studies.
I am very enthusiastic about languages and I believe I am able to encourage pupils to also be passionate about learning languages. Having studied Education Studies, I am able to identify how children learn best and this will help me to set the right tasks for learners, which will help them to improve their knowledge of the German language.
I have been teaching as a qualified teacher for 8 years, currently teaching German up to GCSE level in an 11-16 school. Over the years I have also tutored German at GCSE and A-Level. I am also been an examiner for AQA (GCSE German).
My approach to teaching depends on the needs of the learner. I will help students to improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills and I will motivate them to be enthusiastic about learning a language and to be confident to speak the language well.
In addition, I can help with homework and preparing for exams. My lessons will be planned individually, depending on the learner’s strengths and limitations as well as their interests, in order to motivate them and to be able to enjoy the language.
