Looking for a tutor who can adapt to your individual learning style?
[1st session is FREE]
Hi! My name is Jasmine, and I could be your guide to mastering the world of mathematics and science by helping you see things in a way that makes sense to you. With 3A*’s in A-level Maths, Further Maths and Physics and a distinction in AEA Maths, as well as an 8 and 9’s in GCSE English Language, English Literature and the sciences, I aim to help students conquer their fears when it comes to learning.
With about two years of tutoring experience throughout sixth form, I’ve been able to refine my approach to cater to the unique learning styles and needs of each individual student. I began tutoring after realising how much I enjoyed helping my peers excel in the topics they struggled with in class by explaining things with a different perspective that resonated with them.
Having worked with students with a range of academic goals, ranging from studying for entrance exams to being able to keep up their homework, I am able to adapt and tailor sessions to cater to these aspirations with confidence, providing a well-rounded experience for those I help.
I truly believe that fostering a love for learning by equipping students with the tools and strategies they need to become independent learners is essential for effective tutoring, beyond simply conveying information.
My methodology revolves around truly understanding a concept within the wider context of its applications. This means that topics that were seemingly nonsensical and demoralising to learn would now make sense and link not only to the previous topics students know, but also their everyday life.
Central to my tutoring approach is making sure students are not simply relying on memorisation, but rather are developing their intuition and critical thinking through continuous practice. Using relatable examples in a multitude of ways and styles of exercises. This would be through tailored activities where the structure of the lesson is dependent on the student’s needs that week, truly making the experience a personalised one.
I also aim to give study tips to students, as well as other tricks that I have learned over the years as a student that you wouldn’t receive in the classroom. This way, the journey to achieving academic success becomes an enriching experience, allowing students to focus on what truly matters.
Remember, your first session is on me, so let’s unleash your potential together and find what works best for you together!
