Hi I'm Jasmine, I was born and raised in North West London but have lived in many places and travelled the world. I grew up with music and started singing in a gospel choir at the early age of just 4 years old. I now am living and working as a full time vocalist and singing teacher back in North West London.
Being an independent artist with over half a million streams on Spotify on my most recent debut release, I can offer artists a good understanding of how to build a career in music. I feel very excited about the current climate of the music industry and believe there are lots of opportunities to be had. I feel very passionate about sharing my experiences and knowledge around this process, which includes developing your artistic identity, a PR/Marketing strategy for Self releasing as well as building audiences for potential live performances.
Finally here are some artists I am currently really excited about:
Jazmine Sullivan, Noname, Corrine Bailey Rae, SZA, Tori Kelly, YEBBA and India Arie.
I have several years of experience with teaching performance/Vocal work to a range of ages and abilities, from teaching in primary schools up to university level and adults. I have had my own vocal tutoring business for 2 years and am growing my work quickly. This is something I've really enjoy doing along side my performance career.
I have a BA (hons) in popular music from Leeds Conservatoire where I graduated with a 1st level degree. Since graduating I am a regular performer on the UK London music scene. I have performed in venues such as Bush Hall, KOKO and Ronnie Scott's.
I personalise my sessions to suit my client's individual needs.
Together we will cover and explore the fundamentals of singing including breath management, posture, pitch and tone. I encourage all my students to bring along some of their favourite repertoire for us to explore in the lessons. I also provide a wide range of repertoire which covers (from Adele and Sam Smith to YEBBA and Tori Kelly).
I choose repertoire for my students based on what I feel is most suitable for their immediate and long term development.
As singers we have an innate talent for imitation. I believe that this should be an important part of the evolving process and I always encourage my students to develop a clear idea of what their influences are in regards to genres and singers that they love.
I aim for my lessons to have a good balance between focused practice and creative work where we together explore how to optimise creativity and imagination in our approach as singers.
