Jason

My name is Jason and I am an enthusiatic teacher with a wealth of experience preparing students for a huge number of different examinations.
I have taught for 26 years in the classroom and additionally I tutor online. Having been Head of Science for many years, I have extensive experience teaching all of my subjects with excellent results.
I am acutely aware of the need to determine the level of knowledge and understanding before helping push that student on to better things.
I have a very calm persona but I work tirelesly for my students. I believe prompt and efficient feedback are essential for students to continually improve.

26 years of UK and International experience as teacher and Head of Science. Have taught in Colombia, Thailand, UAE, Spain, London and West Sussex.

A Level Biology - IAl, Edexcel, AQA, CIE,
IB - Biology )HL & SL) and ESS (level 2 trained in both)
AQA A level examiner and current Edexcel GCSE examiner.
Head of Sixth Form for over 8 years and extensive experience with UCAS applications and personal statements.
Extensive online teaching and tutoring experience.

Tutoring Approach

I use Bitpaper which I share with stduents, and a graphics tablet to write in real time.
I approach each student on a person-by-person basis. The needs of each student are unique to them and a plan will be gererated for each student showing clearly all of our expectations over the time we are learning.
I believe students learn best when they are being challenged, made to think and are supported and I make sure students receive feedback on their perfromance and are shown ways to improve for the next class. Quick feedback keeps students focussed on their learning.
I have an extensive number of resources to help the stduents build understanding and assessments for them to measure their progress.
