I am fifty eight years of age. I have two degrees ( BSc (Hons)(2.1)(in theoretical chemistry) and B.A. (in general science)) I was also a Chartered Chemist and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry before retirement. I have extensive publishing experience (contributing to a number of revision guides and proof-reading others). I current
examine for the WJEC and OCR examination boards and also the IBO international board (appointed as a senior examiner). I also have experience at writing A level examination papers for two international examination boards (CIE and the Northern Consortium). I have a CRB certificate (to view) and am also registered with the GTC.

Tutoring Experience

I have twenty-eight years of teaching experience - mostly as a Head of Chemistry. I have also taught physics and mathematics from SEN level to GCSE. I have tutored (at both GCSE and A level) from the syllubi of all of the UK examination boards (WJEC, OCR, AQA, EDEXCEL,) and also from a number of international examination boards. I can provide details of examination successes for the past five years. I have now tutored the NSAA Cambridge entry examination.

Tutoring Approach

I tutor pupils online now and can honestly say that it is more efficient that face-to-face tuition. I tend to ask pupils to organise lessons in advance so that I can give them what help they need rather than repeat work that they are already confident with. I strive to provide a relaxed atmosphere about the session. I try and percolate humour throughout my lessons and have an endless supply of patience
