I am a fully qualified Primary School Teacher currently teaching part time and tutoring from my home and online. I have over 20 years of experience working with children aged 5-12 within the Scottish curriculum and I also have experience in working with children with varying additional support needs including ADHD, ASD, EAL, dyslexia and dyscalculia.
I am passionate about teaching and learning and enjoy using my skills to help others.
I have been teaching for over 20 years and teach all areas of the Scottish curriculum. I enjoy making sure that lessons are engaging and inclusive for all abilities of learners and suitably matched to their needs. I have experience of teaching children who require targeted support and who have learning difficulties including dyslexia and dyscalculia and those with a range of complex needs, including autism and ADHD.
Once I have identified your child's learning needs and created a clear plan for progression I create an individualised plan to ensure that lessons are engaging, fun and develop the areas of the curriculum that your child needs help to access. I use a wide range of approaches including formal lessons, technology and games to support the learning and make suggestions for some home learning activities that can be used to support your child.
I provide a supportive and positive environment and work hard to ensure all learners feel successful in their learning and build up their confidence. I ensure that parents receive feedback after each session to inform and update on learning progress and next steps for future learning.
