Hi, I'm Jenny - an experienced teacher of English at a secondary school. I adore teaching and have adapted my tutoring to be online to ensure I'm able to continue to help students achieve their potential and manage their anxieties in the current situation.
I am an avid lover of literature, as well as exploring and walking with my family. In my spare time I am a novice baker and cook, along with also having an interest in illustration. Being a teacher is a huge part of my life and every day brings something new when you are a teacher, which I thoroughly enjoy.
I have worked as a full time English teacher at an oversubscribed secondary school in Calderdale since 2014 after completing my PGCE in Secondary English with SEN.
During that time I have worked with a wide variety of differing abilities and I have comprehensively taught my subject speciality to KS3 and KS4 students with great success.
I am a professional who is dedicated to teaching, I thoroughly enjoy helping facilitate learning and will cater my tuition to the individual needs of the student I am tutoring.
I believe learning should be engaging for it to make an impact; I aim to ensure that my sessions take that into consideration and utilise engaging methods to help aid revision and recall.
As a fully qualified teacher of both mainstream and SEN students I can tailor my approach depending on the student and will work diligently to help boost their confidence in my subject area. English is an important subject to master and I believe anyone can excel in the subject with the right approaches and one-to-one attention.
