I am a fully qualified and highly experienced primary teacher with 10 years of teaching experience both in the UK (in state and private schools) and abroad (for 3 years in Nord Anglia’s British School of Beijing). I specialise in tutoring students for the 11+, private school entrance exams and Key Stage 1 and 2 (especially with preparing them for SATS).
I have experience teaching Key Stage 1 and 2 (more extensively in Key Stage 2) and privately I have taught up to Year 8. My CELTA qualification and experience teaching EAL learners and Upper Key Stage 2 mean that I have an excellent understanding of grammar and the complexities of the English language in particular. My most recent observation focused on writing in English was graded at the highest level.
I believe in a child-centred approach to education and am adept at tailoring lessons to suit students’ individual needs. When I plan lessons, I make sure that each lesson has variety and that active and fun revision activities are included in order to keep my student engaged and to help them reach their full academic potential.
