Hello, I am Jessica. I hold a BA (hons) in English and Theatre and a MA in Shakespeare and Theatre. As well as this, I have a PGCE and teach English at secondary level. I have been teaching secondary English for six years, and have an extensive and detailed knowledge of the AQA English Literature and Language exam specifications. Furthermore, I have also received extensive training in reading strategies which have proven to be highly effective in helping students to improve their fluency, prosody and comprehension at both KS2 and 3.
I have been a qualified English teacher for six years, but have been working with young people since 2015. Further to this, I have privately tutored before (2012-2017).
Depending on the student, tutoring sessions will focus on their area of need. For example, for a GCSE student, the sessions will focus on the exam criteria and ensuring that the student is well practised in the skills required.
For non-exam based sessions, students will have the opportunity to improve and hone skills that they are finding difficult to master.
